It’s hard to remember where Londoners ate quality burgers before the likes of Lucky Chip, Honest Burger and Patty & Bun (and no Byron does not count). Over the last 4 years, Patty & Bun has grown in to a seven-branch strong chain dishing out some of the best burgers this side of the Atlantic. A no-reservations policy still means enormous queues at some of the original venues but consistency across the branches means you can easily enjoy the same delicious goodness at some of the less popular branches (of which Soho is surprisingly one). My favourite is the Jose Jose chilli burger with the Rosemary chips but don’t wear a white shirt. The meat quality isn’t quite on par with Honest Burger but when it comes to overall taste, P&B wins out for me. The service is casual and varies from friendly to overly so depending on your server.
If you’re thinking of getting a burger in London, skip Shake Shack and Five
Guys, and try one of the best burgers in the city. Period.
